WHY
DO WE POST "LIGHT OF JUSTICE" ON THIS WEBSITE ?

The book entitled "Light of Justice" has been
recently written in Khmer language by Cambodia's National
Assembly member and opposition leader Sam Rainsy. Shortly
after its publication on July 3, 2001 it was banned by the
Phnom Penh government on August 17, 2001, with the police
being instructed to confiscate all copies of the book.
In spite of -- or because of -- the ban, we want the book to
be accessible to any internet user. Information technology is
being used to promote democracy, to defend fundamental
freedoms such as freedom of expression and freedom of
publication, and therefore to defy any interdiction by any
dictator.
The book is in the process of being translated into English.

| POURQUOI PUBLIER
"LUMIERE DE LA JUSTICE" SUR CE SITE ? |

Le livre intitulé "Lumière de la Justice" a été
récemment écrit en langue khmère par Sam Rainsy, député
du Cambodge et chef de l'opposition dans son pays. Peu après
sa publication le 3 juillet 2001, le livre a été interdit
par le gouvernement de Phnom Penh le 17 août 2001, avec ordre
donné à la police de confisquer tous les exemplaires du
livre qui se trouvent en circulation.
En dépit -- ou à cause -- de l' interdiction, nous voulons
que ce livre puisse être consulté par tout utilisateur de
l'internet. Les nouvelles technologies dans la communication
et la globalisation de l'information contribuent à promouvoir
la démocratie, à defendre les libertés fondamentales,
notamment la liberté d'expression et la liberté de
publication, et permettent ainsi de défier les interdits de
tous dictateurs.
Le livre est en cours de traduction en français. En attendant
sa traduction intégrale, voici en résumé ce que Sam Rainsy
a voulu exprimer dans ce livre. |
